Nicole and Clint didn’t have any major “must-haves” for their engagement session, but they do share a love for all of the breweries that Charlotte has to offer so we decided to meet for a drink and start shooting at one of their favorites, Triple C Brewing. It also gave us a good opportunity to get a few photos with their pup. After we wrapped up at Triple C we drove over to the Elizabeth area because I’d previously seen a tree in perfect bloom and thought it’d be a nice area to take in the sunset.read more
Kathryn and Morgan live in Raleigh and wanted to find some natural, green spaces close to downtown for their engagement session. I’d been to Dorothea Dix Park before with some friends and knew it’d provide plenty of opportunity, but when we got there I was blown away with how empty the park was in March. We shot these on a cool Spring day just before everything popped into bloom, but these two are so magnetic to one another you can’t even tell.read more
Most of the weddings I photograph are in Southeast, but every now and again a couple comes along looking to switch it up and take the celebration overseas. In this case, Morgan and Jarrod dreamt up a ten day trip to Greece with their families and closest friends. We all met in Athens for a few days of ancient history, but soon hopped a plane to Santorini. Their quaint, but out-of-this-world, ceremony happened on a rooftop at the incredible Remezzo Villas overlooking Oia and the Aegean.read more
Thanks for checking out my new site! If this is your first time here, I apologize for the lack of posts at the moment. I’ve been going through a bit of a rebuild, but will re-posting events and new sessions regularly.read more
Meet Marlow, everybody! This little cutie was so well behaved on her newborn family session a couple of weeks ago here in Charlotte. She pretty much slept the entire time, which for newborn photography is quite ideal. It’s pretty awesome being able to photograph all of Morgan & Jarrod’s milestones and growing family. It was just a few years ago we were in Greece together where they got married overlooking one of Santorini’s best views.read more
We’ve really been enjoying some epic February weather this week here in Charlotte, but wanted to throw it back to last month when Elizabeth & Patrick braved the chilly temps for a super sweet engagement session in uptown Charlotte at Romare Bearden Park.read more
This is just a very small preview of their session (I’m currently editing the rest) and few images from the next morning when Sabrina and I walked around, ate Hominy Grill for breakfast and soaked up as much sun as we could.read more
Once a couple gets engaged, it’s usually not long after that the wedding planning starts and the services are being booked. While it’s a no brainer to have a photographer at the wedding, there are several other opportunities where a photographer might be useful...read more
In 2017, I made my first trip to Puerto Rico with my sister and our friend Amanda. We went to celebrate Amanda’s 30th birthday and the only stipulations were that we had to be able to get to where we were going quickly and the location had to be new to all three of us.read more
As I reflect back on a trip to Greece in 2016, I wanted to share thirty of my favorite film photos from that trip. Whenever I travel I love to slow down and document as much as possible on old manual film cameras (I take a small digital too so I can share on the go). I can’t tell you exactly why I love it, but it just feels more real working with film.
All of these images were shot on a Yashica Mat 124G with Kodak Ektar 100 or Portra 400.
We flew into Athens and immediately jumped into the history, which I’m all about.read more
